What does Kaizen mean?
The word Kaizen (Ki-zen)
was chosen for our business name because constant incremental improvement
is the foundation of Mark and Karen's business and personal life.
Kaizen was created in Japan
after World War II. Kai means change, and zen means good. Kaizen
is the umbrella management philosophy for companies like Toyota, and includes
TQM, lean manufacturing, 5S, Quality circles, Kanban, etc. Kaizen encourages
each employee to make many suggestions for improvement per year -- At Toyota,
they average almost 70 suggestions per employee per year. Companies that embrace
Kaizen have ad great success lowering costs, while raising productivity and
quality.
